Casco Bay Lines transports cars and light pickup trucks to Great Diamond, Long Island, Chebeague Island, and Cliff Island aboard the Maquoit II. This is not a regularly scheduled service; reservations are required and are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the limitations of schedule, tide, and weather, reservations should be made as far in advance as possible, and transportation on the requested date and time cannot be guaranteed. Charges are one-way; same day round-trip service is not available for any vehicle.
All vehicles departing down the bay from Portland must be at the terminal at least 90 minutes prior to departure — any exceptions must be discussed in advance. Vehicles departing from island piers must be on the pier 1/2 hour in advance of the published departure time.

Downbay Vehicle Restrictions
- There is a 5500 pound maximum weight limit (including cargo). This prohibits most commercial trucks and heavily loaded pickup trucks or vans.
- No vehicle exceeding 6 feet 6 inches in height may be transported.
- No bicycles, kayaks, ladders, or other equipment may be carried on the roof of the vehicle. Bicycles may be carried on rear racks but may need to be removed for space reasons.
