Island Info - Bailey Island, MaineBailey Island is located within the town of Harpswell, a unique coastal community which recently celebrated its 250th birthday. For decades Harpswell has been a mecca for vacationers seeking a saltwater environment, a serene way of life, and an abundance of natural beauty. Its 216 miles of coastline consists of Harpswell Neck; the three large islands of Sebascodegan (Great Island), Orr's Island, and Bailey Island, which are connected by bridges; and a scattering of over 200 smaller islands accessible only by boat. With some of the few remaining working harbors on the Maine coast, Harpswell offers an authenticity of which we are proud. Cook's Lobster House is located on the tip of Bailey Island and is surrounded on three sides by water. Cook's landing is where the Casco Bay Lines Bailey Island Cruise docks every day during the summer. Cook's is a world-famous restaurant that was featured in a worldwide Visa commercial in 1997. It's a beautiful spot that provides visitors with many wonderful activities: beaches, fantastic walking trails, a Sea Life Learning Center and tidal pool touch tank, gift shops, art exhibits, and much more.
